Sacramento News and Review has teamed up with local artists to convert their newspaper boxes into art. I did one of these a couple of years ago, now students from the Short Center North; an art center for adults with disabilities is creating new works of art, which hopefully will be the start of many more to come.

Events, stuff and things for the month of December:
Pence Gallery, Holiday Market Show,I’ve done this show for a few years running the Pence is a great gallery and their show are definitely worthchecking out. This show is a show geared for the holiday season with moderately priced items and cool gift ideas, something for everyone! The opening will be on Friday December 11th from 7-9p.m. (Davis, CA)
Tangent Gallery Holiday Show this is a show that I am curating with Tangent Gallery to highlight the work of the Short Center North. This show will feature many great works in a variety of mediums at really great affordable prices. We will also have our Christmas choir perform the night of the opening. This is definitely a very col event I’ve had the honor of putting together for several years, in addition to the show it will be at the Tangent Gallery, which is one of my favorite venues in Sacramento. The opening will be held on Saturday, December 12th from 6-9p.m. (Sacramento, CA)
UnitedState, Ambiguous Paddle Show I was given a template of a ping pong paddle to paint on for this show and judging by the talent it will be an amazing show. This show is also a global show and will travel to many destinations around the world t.b.a. The opening will be held on Saturday, December 12th from 6-9p.m. (Sacramento, CA)
1 a.m. Gallery, Circles of life; each artist was given a template of a circle of either 10, 20 or 30 inches and create some art. This show is In San Francisco @ 1000 Howard Street, and will open on Friday December 18th from 7-10p.m.

November is going to be kind of a quiet month for me I’ll only be in one show @ Verge Gallery. Verge is having a studio artists show in the front gallery a lot of great talent and work at really affordable prices. They are also having a very nice group show in he main gallery The Magic Window, Verge Gallery is going to be a groovy art destination in November.
Another place to check out in November is Bitchin’ Space; my good friend Bruce Gossett will be showing his work there. It will be a combination of posters and paintings, I have had a preview of the work and it’s amazing!

This month is going to be another busy hectic, but fun and gratifying month filled with a variety openings, closings,reunions, monsters, beer soaked pumpkins, angry quails, mutant worms and a mural unveiling.

All of these opening and closing receptions are on the 10th of October, times vary, click on the gallery links to get the correct info for the time.
Closing reception for Studio X show, which is also serving as a after party for the mural unveiling and maybe by coincidence the 1020 show as well.

Himovitz Show 1020 Show, the 15 year anniversary of the death of Michael Himovitz and is a celebration of the gallery and the man who created it. This show is boasting an amazing array of artists from the Himovitz stable assembled for the first time in years. 1020 will probably be one of the best art shows in Sacramento for the month of October.

Blue Lamp one of Sacramento’s premiere music venues, which also features art work, on the bill is Mark Fox, Andy Langford, Dolan Forcier and more! This show should provide a nice ambience for a lot of great shows in October! Opening reception is 5-7 p.m.
Unveiling of the M.B.A. mural project (Furlow Furrows), read more about this mural project which was really fun to create and is very large. We should also have a Paul Imagine limited edition commemerative poster available at the opening; the line drawing for the poster is awesome and can be seen on the mural photos link. Opening reception is 2-6 p.m.

Tangent Gallery Trade and Transformations how, the Tangent Gallery is a totally cool venue featuring a show that is curated to to be viewed with flashlights, this event will be a lot of fun.

This mural ( Furlow Furrows) was approximately 200 feet x 17.5 feet, ingredients to make it: about a year of planning, 2 guys to paint it (John Stuart Berger, Dolan Forcier), 10 days to finish it, several gallons of paint, CASES of Montana, paint pens, several gallons of water, (for us), sunscreen, gallons of coffee, food ( I ate my weight in food), scaffolding, scissor lift, a van full of stuff, an airless sprayer, a few 100 degree plus days, the “English muffin” wall. the mural is located in downtown Sacramento, completed September, 2009
