A couple times a year my friend Eileen talks me into doing some ceramics, if it wasn’t for her I probably would never get around to making stuff with clay, so thanks Eileen for the motivation to do so.  The Title of this piece is Vincent Van Gough’s Rodent Twin in a Parallel Universe,  this year I will be participating in a mug and small works show at the Pence Gallery, which will also be having a larger ceramic exhibition there as well.

This show comes right on the heels of the big clay conference (CCACA) at the John Natsoulas Gallery.  If your thing is ceramics Davis is definitely the place to go this month to see some great ceramic art.  Follow the links and check it out!

CLAY CONFERENCE

Short Center North Show, opening @ the Pence this Friday, February 12th from 6-9 p.m.

This month all of my events will be in Davis, I just got back from there installing a small show at Urban Body, that will run from present and continue for a couple of months. I also will be curating and showing with the talented students and staff of the Short Center North at the Pence Gallery and that show will open on February 5th and close on the 28th; with an opening reception on Febraury 12th from 6-9p.m.  So follow the links and check out the info and hopefully we’ll see you there!

MORE SHORT CENTER NORTH

Ruth Shelton was an incredible artist, activist ,  friend and student of  the Short Center North,  passed away on Friday January 8th, 2010.  Ruth did multiple paintings and art shows while @ Short Center North, painting in an impressionist style. Because of Ruth’s disabilities she did her whole catalog of work with a specially constructed  headset. Ruth’s perseverance and determination to suceed is an inspiration to us all and she will be greatly missed .

This is a photo gallery of the Matt 136 @ Autobody Fine Art, opening 01/ 09/10,  it was an amazing show and installation, one of the best shows I’ve had the pleasure of seeing recently.  The show will be up for another month if your in Northern California and have the opportunity to check it out, you should!
