Sacramento News and Review has teamed up with local artists to convert their newspaper boxes into art. I did one of these a couple of years ago, now students from the Short Center North; an art center for adults with disabilities is creating new works of art, which hopefully will be the start of many more to come.

Studio X Holiday, The Last Big Final Art Show featuring the ToyRoom presenting artwork of Shepard Farey ,students and staff of the Short Center North and much, much more. The show will have an opening on Saturday December 19th & 20th from 6:00p.m. until 11:00p.m., December 21st from 12p.m. until 6p.m. Studio X is located on 2320 Cantalier Street, Sacramento, CA

This Saturday (7/26/2008) from 3pm-6pm Java Lounge will be graciously hosting a show to benefit for the family and friends of Paige Harris . Paige who recently passed on was a student of the Short Center North and the money raised at the event will help the family in their time of need. The show will feature a silent auction with an awesome array of artists: Skinner , Nate Cordero, Ben Walker, Kim Scott, Stephanie Skalisky , Val Fernandez, Justin Lovato, Melanie Bown, Mike Rodriguez, Olivia Coelho, Zack Hill and many more. There will also be a ton of great live music: Flower Vatto-Art Lessing, Kenny Beesley, Neil Haydon and many more . So come check it out Java Lounge is located at 2416 16th street.
